36" 4-shaft 6-treadle floor loom. This jack loom was built by Arthur Weitzenfiled in Fairhaven, Vermont around 1978-1980. There are leather tags on the loom stamped #177. Both the front and back beams can be folded allowing the loom to fit through a door, as well as laid down to allow you to sit inside the loom while threading. This is a very heavy loom of rock maple, which will weave rugs as well as fine thread projects. I purchased this loom in 2011 from its second owner, and have been very happy with it. But I am getting an 8-shaft loom and don't have room for two floor looms. Since purchasing it, I have changed out all the heddles and chains to Texsolv, which has made it a little quieter and the shafts seem to move smoother. I still have all the old inserted eye heddles if you want to change them back. There are now 900 Texsolv heddles. It came with a raddle and an 8 dent reed, and I have added a new 10 dent reed. Last year my son built a sturdy box to sit on top of the loom which is very handy for storing weaving tools, lease sticks, etc. The box lifts off for transport. I am selling the loom, tool box, raddle, two 36" reeds, and lease sticks for $800. Loom must be picked up from Pearland, Texas by buyer because of the weight. - Free Classified Ads in US on Craigslist
